Jay-Z has called out a lawyer for making ‘idiotic claims’ that he raped a 13-year-old girl alongside Diddy.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is currently serving time behind bars as he awaits his trial due to take place May 5 next year after he was indicted by a grand jury following his arrest at the Park Hyatt hotel in Manhattan back in September.
He has since been charged with racketeering and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, charges he’s continued to deny. A 14-page federal indictment accuses the rapper of organizing events known as ‘freak offs’.

The indictment accuses Combs and others in his enterprise of ‘wield[ing] the power and prestige of Combs’ role at the Combs Business to intimidate, threaten and lure female victims into Combs’ orbit, often under the pretence of a romantic relationship’.
With the ‘assistance of members and associates’, the document claims Combs ‘transported commercial sex workers across state lines and internationally’ and ‘then used force, threats of force, and coercion, to cause victims to engage in extended sex acts with male commercial sex workers that Combs referred to as, among other things, ‘freak offs’.’
Now, a federal lawsuit which initially only named Combs was refiled over the weekend in New York to add Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter.
However, Jay-Z has denied all allegations in a public statement.

It reads in part: “My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee.
“What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle.
“No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!

“These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!!”
The rapper went on to explain how damaging these claims are to his status as well as to his family, with one of his daughters old enough that her friends will read the news and see the allegations against him.
Before concluding: “You have made a terrible error in judgement thinking that all ‘celebrities’ are the same. I’m not from your world. I’m a young man who made it out of the project of Brooklyn. We don’t play these types of games.
Jay-Z has issued a statement denying the accusations (Twitter)
“We have very strict codes and honor. We protect children, you seem to exploit people for personal gain.
“Only your network of conspiracy theorists, fake physics, will believe the idiotic claims you have levied against me that, if not for the seriousness surrounding harm to kids, would be laughable.
“I look forward to showing you just how different I am.”
Buzbee himself has also responded on Twitter explaining that his client didn’t ask for money.
His statement concludes: “As far as the allegations in the complaint filed, we will let the filing speak for itself and will litigate the facts in court, not in the media.”

The BeyHive are flooding to social media in support after Jay-Z called out the Grammys for not awarding Beyoncé ‘Album of the Year’.
Beyoncé may be the Queen of Pop, but one crown she is yet to be honoured with is the award for ‘Album of the Year’.
And when he went up to accept his award at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, Jay-Z decided to call out the Recording Academy’s history with the ‘Album of the Year’ award. Catch the moment here:
Jay-Z went up on stage to collect the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award.

The Award was created last year to mark the 50th anniversary of hip-hop and is presented to artists in recognition of their ‘dedication to the art form that has greatly influenced the industry,’ the Grammys website states.
However, during his acceptance speech, the 54-year-old rapper reflected on his boycotting of the Grammys in 1998 after DMX wasn’t nominated for best album of the year and went on to criticise the Recording Academy for not recognising a certain ‘young lady’ in its 2024 ‘Album of the Year’ award – ultimately won by Taylor Swift.

Joined by his and Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy up on the stage, Jay-Z said he wants the awards ceremony to ‘get it right’.

He continued: “At least getting close to right. And obviously it’s subjective. Y’all don’t gotta clap at everything. Obviously it’s subjective because, you know, it’s music and it’s opinion-based.
“But, you know, some things — I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won album of the year. So even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work. Think about that. The most Grammys, never won album of the year. That doesn’t work.
“You know, some of you gonna go home tonight and feel like you’ve been robbed. Some of you may get robbed. Some of you don’t belong in a category. No, when I get nervous I tell the truth.”
“But outside of that, we got to keep showing up. Forget the Grammys for a second, just in life. As my daughter sits and stands with me as nervous as I am. Just in life, you got to keep showing up. […] Until they give you all those accolades you think you deserve. Until they call you chairman. Until they call you a genius. Until they call you the greatest of all time.”

And while he didn’t mention the ‘young lady’ by name, fans are convinced Jay-Z was talking about pop star – and his partner – Beyoncé.

The BeyHive have since flocked to social media in praise of Jay-Z’s speech.
One X – formerly known as Twitter – user said: “Man’s just laying down facts.”

“Jay-Z spoke REAL,” another added.
However, a third wrote: “She always had strong competition like Adele and Bruno Mars who absolutely deserved it, I think it’s also because Beyonce doesn’t make and write her albums herself… It’s well known that she doesn’t. Just a thought , I love her.”

Usher was just 13 years old when Diddy invited him to see what a musician’s ‘lifestyle’ was like.
The ‘Burn’ hitmaker is a global superstar and recently headlined the Super Bowl halftime show, but once upon a time, he was just a young and budding up-and-coming artist like many who start out in the music industry.
In a bid to help him make it as an artist, Usher joined the ‘Puffy Flava Camp’ after L.A. Reid, former CEO of Epic Records, suggested he do so.
During his time in the so-called camp, Usher mixed with others stars who were much older than him (Diddy is nine years his senior) and in a resurfaced interview, he admitted that he saw some ‘curious’ things.

Speaking to Howard Stern back in 2016, Usher recalled: “I lived with Sean Puffy Combs for a year.”
Stern then asked if it the house was ‘filled with chicks and orgys’, but Usher insisted that wasn’t the case.
“Nah, not really,” he said. “I mean, it was curious. I got the chance to see some things.”

“I went there to see the lifestyle,” the ‘My Boo’ singer continued. “And I saw it. I don’t know if I could indulge and understand really what I was I looking it.”
“It was pretty wild,” Usher added.
When asked if his parents were okay with what he was experiencing, the 45-year-old admitted that they ‘didn’t know nothing about this s**t’.
“You’re a dad now, would you ever send your kid to Puffy Flava Camp?” Stern went on to ask.

“Hell no,” Usher, a father-of-four, replied.

Homeland Security Investigations said in a statement issued on March 25: “Earlier today, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners.
“We will provide further information as it becomes available.”
As it stands, it remains unclear if Diddy is the target of the federal agents’ investigation.
The rapper’s sons, Justin and Christian, were detained outside of one of his homes at the time of the raids, but were later released without charge.

The raids follow Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura sued him late last year over allegations of rape and abuse – but Diddy denied the claims.

A 13-year-old girl with severe food allergies died after taking a single sip of hot chocolate, an inquest at East London Coroner’s Court has heard.
Brit Hannah Jacobs was diagnosed as a toddler with severe allergies to fish, eggs, and dairy, and had become used to managing them in her day-to-day life.
On February 8, 2023, 13-year-old Hannah had been on the way to a dentist’s appointment in London with her mom Abimbola Duyile when she stopped for a hot chocolate at a Costa Coffee branch in Barking.

While ordering at the chain, Ms Duyile told how she had been very ‘picky’ about ensuring that the drink was made with soy milk and not dairy, and that equipment was properly sanitised.

In a statement read out in court, she said: “When I arrived at the coffee shop I said to the person serving that we both would like hot chocolate.
“I said that Hannah was severely allergic to cows’ milk and said they should clean the jug – to which they agreed.”

After purchasing the drinks the pair walked to the nearby dentist’s practice, and Hannah took a sip of the drink in the waiting room.
Ms Duyile recalled how her daughter “abruptly got up and went to the toilet and shouted ‘that was not soya milk’.”
In her statement, Ms Duyile said: “My initial response was of anger to the Costa Coffee staff – it gave way to terror.”

The mom went on to recall how Hannah’s reaction had ‘happened quickly’, and that she had started coughing up phlegm and was complaining of chest pains.
Ms Duyile rushed Hannah to a nearby pharmacy to get an EpiPen as they suspected Hannah was having an anaphylactic reaction.
There, a pharmacist administered the EpiPen in Hannah’s leg after she collapsed in the chemist.
A customer called an ambulance and attempts were started to resuscitate Hannah, which were taken over by paramedics.

Hannah was then taken to hospital where sadly, she was declared dead by 1pm, according to lawyers representing the family.
Due to her severe allergies, Hannah and her family had opted for her to use ‘complete avoidance’ at home.

Generally she would only eat food that had been throughly checked first and been cooked by her mom or her auntie.

The inquest also heard testimony from Dr Rahul Chodhari, who was involved in the management of Hannah’s allergies.
Assistant coroner Dr Shirley Radcliffe asked Dr Chodhari if two doses of adrenaline 300mcg could have changed the outcome, to which he said it was hard to predict, adding that ‘150mcg was certainly too small a dose to be given’.
The inquest is set to hear further testimonies, after which the coroner will give a ruling on the circumstances of Hannah’s death.
Paying tribute to her daughter, Ms Duyile said: “I know that she would have achieved anything she set her mind to. I loved my child so much and my heart is broken.”

Jay-Z has opened up about Beyoncé not taking home Album of the Year at the 65th Grammy Awards.
Despite taking home a whopping four Grammy awards – for best R&B Song, Dance Recording, Traditional R&B Performance and Dance and Electronic Recording – and also becoming the most Grammy-awarded artist in history, Queen B lost out for the fourth time on winning the Best Album of the Year category.
Instead of going to Beyoncé’s Renaissance, the win went to ex-One Directioner Harry Styles for his album Harry’s House.
Rapper and record producer Jay-Z – who is also married to Beyoncé – has since spoken out about her Album of the Year loss.

Renaissance isn’t the only one of Beyoncé’s albums to have been nominated for the Grammy’s Album of the Year to fall at the final hurdle.
In 2010, Queen B’s album I Am…Sasha Fierce lost out to Taylor Swift’s Fearless. In 2015, her album Beyoncé lost to Beck’s Morning Phase and in 2017, Lemonade was beaten by Adele’s 25.

Speaking of this year’s Grammy Awards’ Album of the Year result, Jay-Z told Tidal: “With Bey, I felt like they missed the moment.
Advert
“Not just LEMONADE; [also] when Beck won over her [for Album of the Year at the 2015 show]. I was like, ‘Oh, y’all missed it.’
“For the culture, I love this s**t so much I want them to get it right. I want to experience those moments when it’s the culmination of when Michael popped off. That moment left an indelible mark on us forever.
“Or when Lauryn Hill came through and it was Miseducation and she won those joints [five Grammy Awards in 1999].
“We knew that was her moment. We wanted to witness that moment and celebrate her. She made something that’s going to stand the test of time.”

@arianatorswildt/ Twitter
He may be slightly biased considering his relationship to Queen B, but Jay-Z explained the reason he thinks Renaissance should have won Best Album of the Year on top of Best Dance/Electronic Music Album is because of the impact it’s had on ‘the culture’.
He continued: “Look how the energy of the world moved. They play her whole album in the club. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that. The whole entire joint — like, everything?!
“Every remix is amazing. Everyone’s inspired. It has inspired the world. Every remix is better than the other one.

“From anybody, we’re just finding these joints out in the street. Somebody just did a joint over Suga Free the other day — you heard this joint? It’s a West Coast classic. The DJ put Bey’s vocals over this at a party and it went crazy.”
Jay-Z resolved: “It’s inspiring creativity. You know how The Black Album had The Grey Album [Danger Mouse’s 2004 mashup project]? And the one with Radiohead? It was called Jaydiohead [Minty Fresh Beats’ 2009 mashup].
“When it just inspires creativity, that’s an album.
“That has to be Album of the Year. It has to be.”
